Flamengo plans three new signings while enforcing strict spending limits

Flamengo director of football José Boto confirmed that the club is negotiating the acquisition of three players ahead of the next transfer window. The targets, whose names and exact positions were not disclosed, are expected to include an attacking midfielder to partner Arrascaeta, a winger, a centre‑forward and a left‑back, reflecting the technical staff’s priority areas.

Boto emphasized that any deal will respect the club’s financial reality, stating, “We will not pay more than what we owe and can afford.” Coach Leonardo Jardim is directly involved in identifying the targets, and the president is also kept informed of each negotiation’s progress. The club is also monitoring possible departures, with midfielder Evertton Araújo highlighted as a player of interest to European clubs.

In addition to transfer planning, Boto noted that Flamengo’s pre‑season training is being held in Portugal to minimise costs, and the team will conclude the inter‑season with a friendly against Benfica. The overall strategy aims to reinforce the squad without jeopardising the club’s budgetary balance.
