Flamengo pushes for Almada as Botafogo rejects Palmeiras' Danilo offer

Flamengo confirmed that negotiations to sign Argentine midfielder Thiago Almada are moving forward. The club has engaged directly with the player and is working with Atlético Madrid, the holder of his rights, to finalize terms. Reports indicate Flamengo is prepared to spend up to €30 million (around R$150 million) and aims to complete the transfer this week, while River Plate also vies for his signature.

In a separate transfer saga, Botafogo listed midfielder Danilo for its match against Vitória, effectively ending Palmeiras’ bid. The São Paulo club had offered €28 million (about R$162 million), but Botafogo’s board declined, stating the player is not for sale and the club is financially stable. Danilo will play, and the potential move to Europe is now unlikely.
