Flamengo Rejects Peñarol Offer for Midfielder Nicolás De La Cruz

Flamengo has turned down Peñarol's initial proposal to acquire Uruguayan midfielder Nicolás De La Cruz on loan. The Uruguayan club offered a deal with no transfer fee, asking that Peñarol cover 60% of the player's roughly R$1.5 million monthly salary while Flamengo would pay the remaining 40%. Flamengo deemed the financial terms unacceptable, citing the more than R$102 million it spent to sign De La Cruz from River Plate, and the negotiation has stalled.

Peñarol remains interested and says it will submit a revised offer, while De La Cruz, who has struggled with injuries and limited playing time at Flamengo, has expressed a desire to return to Uruguay. The stalled talks leave the player's future uncertain as the transfer window continues.
