Flamengo secures U-20 victory and confirms U-12 tournament participation

Flamengo's U-20 team secured a 3-1 comeback victory against Portuguesa in their debut match of the 2026 Taça Guanabara. After falling behind in the 9th minute to a goal by Carlos Augusto, Flamengo equalized through Jhefinho in the 42nd minute. The turnaround continued in the second half with goals from Josmar and Douglas Telles.

In youth development news, Flamengo has also confirmed that its U-12 squad will participate in the 2026 Copa Nova Geração. The tournament is scheduled to take place from November 19 to 22 at the Arena das Dunas in Natal. The club's participation follows an official invitation and a technical agreement with QFC, aimed at providing young athletes with diverse competitive experiences and cultural exchange.
