Flamengo shows interest in Instituto midfielder Alex Luna

Flamengo has expressed interest in Alex Luna, a 22-year-old midfielder currently playing for Instituto in Argentina. The player confirmed that his representative was contacted by the Brazilian club in recent days.

Instituto President Juan Manuel Cavagliatto stated that while interest from various clubs is noted, the club has not yet received a formal written proposal. He indicated that while it would be difficult to retain the player if a significant economic offer is made, the club has already rejected previous offers. Luna is currently under contract with Instituto until December 31, 2029.

Luna, known for his versatility as an attacking midfielder, has had a productive season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in 21 matches. His profile, characterized by dribbling ability and ball protection, has drawn comparisons to Thiago Almada.
