Flamourianá hit by severe flooding and heavy rainfall

Flamourianá experienced severe weather conditions on Friday night, as intense rainfall caused significant flooding and transport issues. Heavy water flows inundated streets, accompanied by large quantities of stones, soil, and other debris washed down by the torrents.

Local authorities, including Civil Protection from the Agios Nikolaos Municipality, the Fire Service, and police, responded to the situation to clear road networks and mitigate damage. Ioannis Tsagkarakis, President of the Local Community of Mesa Lakonon, described the night as “truly difficult” but noted that the coordinated intervention of emergency services helped prevent the worst outcomes and protected lives and property.
