Flanagan Law secures $99.9 million trucking accident verdict

Flanagan Law, P. C. announced that a Fulton County, Georgia, trucking verdict has been named to TopVerdict.com’s national list of the Top 10 Motor Vehicle Accident Verdicts in the United States for 2025. The case, which ranked ninth on the list, involved a 2017 crash on Interstate 20 where a tractor-trailer struck a disabled vehicle, resulting in a fatality.

A Fulton County jury returned a $99.9 million verdict on March 20, 2025. This total includes $66.25 million in compensatory damages for the victim's life and estate's pain and suffering. The verdict also included punitive damages and attorney's fees.

The court found that the trucking carrier failed in its duty to preserve critical evidence, including the truck, dash camera data, and driver logbooks. The truck was reportedly scrapped before experts could inspect it, a legal issue known as spoliation.
