Flash Flood Warnings Cover Tennessee Counties Amid Heavy Rain

The National Weather Service in Nashville issued flash flood warnings for several Tennessee counties as heavy thunderstorms brought 1.5–2 inches of rain, with additional rain expected. In eastern Montgomery County, including the city of Clarksville, the warning remains in effect until 8:15 p.m. CT, urging motorists to avoid flooded roads.

A separate warning covers Wayne and Lawrence counties, affecting more than 38,000 residents, 14 schools and one hospital, and remains active until 6:30 p.m. CDT. Officials stress the “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” safety message and advise residents to move to higher ground and avoid driving or walking through flood‑covered areas.
