Flash Flood Warnings Sweep Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia

The National Weather Service has issued flash flood warnings for western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and several counties in West Virginia as thunderstorms produce rain rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour on already‑saturated ground. In Pennsylvania, warnings cover Mercer, Lawrence, Venango, Butler and surrounding areas, while eastern Ohio counties such as Belmont and Guernsey are also under alerts. West Virginia warnings target Monongalia, Marion, Preston, Tucker and Wetzel counties, affecting towns including Morgantown and Fairmont.

A multi‑state Flood Watch extends through the weekend across portions of Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Maryland, with additional flash flood warnings issued for parts of New Jersey, New York and Delaware. Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads, as most flood‑related deaths occur in vehicles, and to seek higher ground if water begins rising.
