Flash flooding destroys Rowan University student housing in New Jersey

Severe storms in Glassboro, New Jersey, on August 27 caused significant flash flooding, including a dramatic incident at an off-campus residence for Rowan University students. Video footage captured the moment several feet of floodwater breached the glass French doors of a home, sending a door panel flying across the room and quickly submerging the lower level.

Resident Tommy Scirrotto reported that the flooding destroyed four bedrooms, leaving furniture, beds, and rugs completely underwater. The incident occurred just as students were preparing to move into housing for the upcoming September academic term. Rowan University also noted that several campus buildings had taken on water during the same period of severe weather.
