Flatbush and local leaders organize spiritual preparations for Selichos

The Flatbush community and local religious leaders are organizing several spiritual preparatory events ahead of the upcoming Rosh Hashanah season.

In Flatbush, more than 30 synagogues are participating in a community-wide “Selichos Seder.” This initiative involves a collective study of Torah (seder limud) starting around 12:10 a.m., intended to spiritually prepare participants before the recitation of Selichos prayers. Organizers have arranged for study partners to be provided for those arriving without a companion.

Additionally, Rabbi Shais Taub will lead a pre-Selichos farbrengen for men at the SoulWords House in Cambria Heights. The gathering is scheduled from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., followed by Selichos services at the Ohel at 1:00 a.m. The event will also be available via online broadcast.
