Flavio Bolsonaro advances flexible work bill as Senate reviews 6×1 schedule amendment

A constitutional amendment (PEC) aimed at ending the 6 × 1 work schedule has reached the Brazilian Senate. In response, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro and the Liberal Party (PL) have promoted an alternative “flexible work” proposal that would let workers negotiate terms directly with employers. The plan envisions a maximum 40‑hour week with two days off for every five days worked and a 14‑month transition period without salary cuts.
