Flavio Bolsonaro proposes free smartphones and internet for Brazilian women

Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, pre‑candidate of the Liberal Party, launched the "Brasil por Elas" plan on 17 July, pledging free smartphones and free internet access to roughly 70 million women across Brazil. The proposal also includes the creation of an artificial‑intelligence virtual assistant called "MarIA" to help women navigate protective measures, schedule medical exams, find psychological support, and access employment and credit opportunities. The initiative is presented as a strategy to combat violence against women and to win the support of female voters, who currently show strong opposition to Bolsonaro’s candidacy. No detailed financing or integration with existing protection policies was disclosed.
