Flavio Bolsonaro seeks image repair, says women run Brazil at PL event

Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, a pre‑candidate for the Brazilian presidency, addressed a crowd of about 150 right‑wing influencers and party officials at the Liberal Party's third National Communication Seminar in Brasília on 3 July. He avoided direct reference to the family dispute with his step‑mother Michelle Bolsonaro, but stressed that "the women run the house and Brazil," trying to soften the perception of a machista image.

Bolsonaro linked his candidacy to his father’s legacy, declared he is "stronger than ever" and outlined policy pledges, including treating the criminal groups CV and PCC as terrorist organisations, removing mobile phones from inmates, and keeping perpetrators of violence against women in prison as part of a broader "defence of women" agenda.
