FISI presidency remains vacant after Flavio Roda fails to reach election quorum

The Federazione Italiana Sport Invernali (FISI) remains without a president following an inconclusive elective assembly in Verona. Incumbent Flavio Roda, who has led the federation since 2012, failed to secure a fourth consecutive term after receiving 57.88% of the votes (48,015). Under the federation's statutes, Roda required a two-thirds majority (66.67%) to bypass the three-term limit.

Other candidates also failed to reach the necessary threshold for election. Antonio Noris obtained 35.97% (29,838 votes), while Roberto Bortoluzzi received 2.52% (2,087 votes). For these challengers, an absolute majority (50% plus one) was required to win.

As a result, the federation must organize new elections within 90 days. Roda, having completed three terms, is ineligible to run again. The upcoming election will also determine the new federal council. The leadership transition occurs following a period of significant athletic success for Italian winter sports, including the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics.
