Flavio Roda seeks fourth term as FISI president
The Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) has announced the candidates for its upcoming Ordinary Elective Federal Assembly, scheduled for October 10, 2026, in Verona. Current president Flavio Roda is seeking a fourth consecutive term, which would extend his leadership until 2030.
Roda faces competition from Roberto Bortoluzzi, former president of the FISI Veneto Regional Committee, and Antonio Noris, president of the Sci Club Goggi-Zanetti. Due to new CONI regulations regarding term limits, Roda faces a higher threshold for reelection; he must secure at least two-thirds of the valid votes (66.67%) to remain in office. In contrast, his challengers only require an absolute majority (50% plus one) to win the presidency.
The election process also includes the selection of council members representing athletes, technicians, and sports clubs. The FISI statutes include provisions to ensure gender representation, requiring at least three women to serve on the Federal Council.
