Flemish Holiday Celebrations Held in Hove and Welle

On Saturday 11 July, the Vlaamse Feestdag was marked in several Belgian towns. In Hove, the local N‑VA party branch handed out free ice‑cream to the public on the church square between 13:00 and 15:00, continuing a tradition that drew about a hundred supporters the previous year.

In the neighbouring town of Welle, the holiday took place on the Welleplein with live music by Jo Vally and the duo Bram & Lennert, alongside the traditional Leeuwenworp. To manage the crowds, the municipality imposed extensive traffic diversions, closed the square to all vehicles from noon on 11 July until the early hours of 12 July, and introduced parking bans around the venue. De Lijn bus stops in the area were temporarily suspended.
