Flender Charity Football Tournament in Bocholt Raises €900,000 for Local Causes
On Saturday, July 11, the 36th Flender Charity Football Tournament took place on the SF 97/30 Lowick field in Bocholt, Germany. Twenty company teams competed in a group stage followed by knockout matches, while families enjoyed a program that included a show act, a seven‑meter penalty shoot‑out featuring local politicians and business figures, and a large tombola.
Organisers highlighted the event’s charitable focus: “It is wonderful to see how the tournament has developed over the years,” said Stefan Busshoff of the organising team. All proceeds—from ticket sales, food, and raffle tickets—are directed to regional charitable organisations, with a dedicated PayPal account for donations. Over the tournament’s 35‑year history, more than €900,000 has been raised for local causes. The main tombola prize this year is a Flender‑manufactured swivel grill, complemented by items such as an original World‑Cup ball, football jerseys, a Nintendo Switch, and Bresser optics. The winning team received a travelling trophy presented by Flender CEO Andreas Evertz.
