Fleshgod Apocalypse singer Francesco Paoli undergoes hand surgery
Francesco Paoli, the vocalist for the band Fleshgod Apocalypse, has undergone reconstructive surgery on his left hand to address long-term injuries from a 2021 rock climbing accident.
Paoli explained that an ulnar nerve interruption caused a loss of sensation and muscle mass in his hand. The recent procedure involved transplanting tissue from his hip into the hand to protect vital structures such as bones, ligaments, veins, and tendons. While the surgery was successful and has improved the hand's appearance and feel, Paoli noted that he may require a refinement procedure next year.
The band has reportedly adjusted its schedule to accommodate his ongoing recovery and potential future medical needs to ensure they do not miss scheduled performances.
