Flevoland municipalities terminate contract with CareForYou Zorg
Five municipalities in the Flevoland region of the Netherlands, including Almere, Dronten, Lelystad, Noordoostpolder, and Urk, have immediately terminated their partnership with youth care provider CareForYou Zorg. The decision follows serious concerns regarding the quality of care provided and the safety of the youth under their supervision.
The municipalities, operating through the Sociaal Domein Flevoland partnership, also reported that the provider supplied incorrect and misleading information during the initial procurement process. Although CareForYou Zorg was reportedly given multiple opportunities to rectify identified deficiencies, the municipalities determined that sufficient improvements were not made.
CareForYou Zorg specialized in “Thuis op Maat” (Tailored at Home) programs, which provide intensive support to families to prevent the need for out-of-home placement. Sixteen children were receiving these services: eleven from Lelystad, four from Noordoostpolder, and one from Almere. Replacement care has been organized for all affected individuals to ensure the continuity of support. The involved municipalities are currently investigating further legal and administrative actions.
