Flex to acquire EPC Power for $4.4 billion
Flex has agreed to acquire EPC Power in a deal valued at $4.4 billion to expand its power conversion capabilities for AI data centers and grid applications. The acquisition aims to bolster Flex’s infrastructure portfolio by integrating EPC Power’s technology, which includes digital rectifiers, inverters, energy storage, and grid-forming controls.
EPC Power specializes in next-generation 800V data center architectures designed to connect high-voltage grid supplies more directly to data center loads, reducing power transmission losses in high-density AI environments. The company also has a development roadmap for solid-state transformers (SSTs).
Upon completion, EPC Power will join Flex’s Cloud and Power Infrastructure (CPI) segment. This move precedes Flex’s plan to spin off the CPI segment into an independent publicly traded company in the first quarter of 2027. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
