Flexible work trends drive rise in bleisure travel and remote work

The modern workplace is seeing a significant shift toward flexible working models, characterized by the rise of “bleisure travel” and increased demand for remote work. Bleisure travel, a combination of business and leisure travel, has gained popularity as employees increasingly seek to combine professional obligations with personal relaxation, such as working from a beach or extending business trips for vacation.

In Austria, a study by Deloitte and the University of Graz indicates that hybrid work has become a permanent fixture. Approximately 70% of companies allow at least half of their staff to work from home, with large organizations often adopting a model of two to three days per week. While employees are generally satisfied, there is a growing desire for even greater flexibility. The integration of Artificial Intelligence is expected to further transform these dynamics by changing how tasks are distributed, performance is assessed, and collaboration is organized.
