Flight Centre Travel Group continues $200 million share buyback

Flight Centre Travel Group is continuing its $200 million on-market share buyback program, executing purchases on every trading day throughout September. As of 14 September, the company has acquired more than 2.52 million shares under the current program, which began on 1 July and is scheduled to run until 17 June 2027.

CEO and founder Graham Turner stated that the decision to initiate the second $200 million buyback reflects the board’s confidence in the company’s recovery and outlook, noting that the company views its shares as undervalued at current levels. The buyback aims to reduce the number of shares on issue, support earnings-per-share growth, and offset potential dilution from convertible notes.

While Flight Centre’s share price has seen a decline of approximately 27.7% since the start of 2025, the company has maintained significant revenue growth, reaching $2,708 million in FY24. Investors are also monitoring the valuation of CAR Group Limited as a point of comparison in the market.
