Félix Houphouët-Boigny University hosts coastal research and infrastructure inspections

At Félix Houphouët-Boigny University, Professor Hauhouot Asseypo Célestin presented research regarding the evolution of the Ivorian coastline. Based on over twenty years of study using satellite imagery and field measurements, the research highlights a varied coastal landscape. While some areas remain stable or experience accretion, such as parts of Fresco-Assagny and the eastern region, others face significant risks. The Abidjan–Grand-Bassam sector is identified as a critical point due to persistent erosion, with San Pedro and Grand-Béréby also showing concerning signs.

Separately, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Adama Diawara, conducted a site visit at Félix Houphouët-Boigny University to inspect ongoing infrastructure rehabilitation projects. The Minister reviewed progress at various locations, including the Linguistics, Arts, Mathematics, and Law buildings, as well as the École Normale Supérieure. While expressing satisfaction with the quality of the work, Diawara urged contractors to accelerate the pace of construction to ensure timely completion without disrupting academic activities.
