Belgian football: Club Brugge squad updates and OH Leuven contract extension

Club Brugge coach Ivan Leko is managing a squad imbalance during the international break, with only six players remaining for training while approximately twenty players are away on national duty. Leko noted the difficulty of ensuring all players return at the same physical and mental level after varying workloads.

Within the Club Brugge squad, Felix Lemaréchal is beginning to see more playing time after adapting to the club’s professional standards following his January transfer. He recently earned his first start in a match against Antwerp.

In other Belgian football news, OH Leuven has secured a long-term commitment from youth product Wouter George, who signed a contract extension lasting until at least 2030. Meanwhile, KRC Genk coach Jess Thorup addressed the upcoming match against Club Brugge, noting he has not discussed Noah Adedeji-Sternberg’s failed transfer to Brugge with the player.
