Félix Solís acquires three historic La Rioja wine brands

Félix Solís Avantis, a prominent Spanish wine group based in Valdepeñas, has acquired three historic brands from the La Rioja Denomination of Origin: Federico Paternina, Lagunilla, and Rioja Santiago.

The acquisition was finalized through a public auction managed by IAG Auction, following the insolvency proceedings of United Wineries Estates, United Wineries, and Marqués de la Concordia Family of Wines. The sale was conducted online in late July.

These brands carry significant historical weight in the region. Rioja Santiago was founded in 1870, while Lagunilla has over a century of history. Federico Paternina is noted as a major historical house in La Rioja Alta. With this move, Félix Solís expands its La Rioja portfolio to include five references, adding to its existing brands Castillo de Albai and Arnegui. The company intends to leverage its international commercial expertise to grow these legacy brands in global markets.
