Félix Tshisekedi's presidency denies claims of secret wife

A woman identified as Magy Mayela caused a stir at the Cité de l’Union africaine, the seat of the Congolese presidency, by claiming to be a wife of President Félix Tshisekedi. Security services intervened to manage the situation after she attempted to gain official recognition or an audience.

The President’s civil house issued a formal communiqué denying the claims, stating that the woman is unknown to the presidential family and has never had a relationship with the Head of State. The statement noted that, according to information from her own family, the individual may be experiencing “psychological fragility.”

New details emerged via social media from Wivine and Mado Moleka, who identified the woman as their cousin residing in London. They claimed the video went viral after being shared within family circles for identification purposes. The presidential office has urged the public to disregard unverified information and warned against spreading content that harms the reputation of the President and his family.
