FlixBus moves operations from Peniche Bus Terminal

FlixBus has ceased operations at the Peniche Bus Terminal in Portugal, moving its services to a stop located near the local courthouse. The decision, which took effect on September 14, was described by the terminal manager, Rodoviária do Oeste, as a unilateral move that could cause operational constraints, safety issues, and delays due to the high volume of existing urban and intercity services at the new location.

FlixBus has defended the relocation, stating the move was necessary to safeguard passenger interests and develop its service offering in Peniche. The company further alleged that it faces obstacles in other terminals managed by the Barraqueiro Group—which also owns Rede Expressos, a primary competitor—in locations such as Fátima and Caldas da Rainha. FlixBus noted that increasing its schedules in those areas previously required intervention from the Authority for Mobility and Transport (AMT).
