Floating Points announces Sunflower Sound System US debut

Floating Points and Head Trip have announced the United States debut of the Sunflower Sound System. The custom hi-fi listening environment will be featured during a one-time event on October 10-11 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Developed by Sam Shepherd over more than a decade, the system will be housed inside an acoustically treated, paneled dome. The installation features 10 custom speaker stacks arranged in a circle to provide an enveloping surround-sound experience. The environment will also include original artwork and tapestries by Josephine Chime, as well as the debut of the ‘Cosmosphere,’ a large mechanical mirrorball designed to bloom above the room.

The artist lineup includes Avalon Emerson, Ben UFO, Eris Drew, Octo Octa, Four Tet, Mad Professor, Theo Parrish, and Zach Cowie. Programming is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 12:30 AM on Saturday and 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM on Sunday.
