Flock Safety employee triggers police stop of investigative reporter
Investigative reporter Brendan Keefe was pulled over by three Georgia police officers after an employee of surveillance company Flock Safety reported being followed.
Keefe, who has been investigating Flock Safety and the potential abuse of its surveillance network, was documenting a camera installation on a public road near his home. While Keefe was filming the installation using a press placard and a high-visibility vest, the Flock employee reported to 911 that he was being harassed and followed.
Police intercepted Keefe, stating the stop was due to the report from the Flock vehicle. Keefe was released without charges, as filming in public is legal.
