Flood-damaged vehicles in Thai Nguyen fail to attract auction buyers

An auction for seven unused vehicles damaged by flooding in Thai Nguyen province failed to attract any buyers. The lot, which included a 2023 BMW 520i, a Kia Sorento, and several Mazda models (CX-3, Mazda 2, and X-30), was scheduled for an online auction on September 17, but no participants registered or purchased the necessary bidding documents.

The vehicles were owned by a business in the Nguyen Gon Industrial Park in Song Cong and were reportedly submerged above their roofs during floods in late 2025. While THACO technicians cleaned the cars and reported that the frames and engines remain functional, certain components require replacement to meet technical operating standards. The starting bid for the entire lot was set at 2.02 billion VND.
