Severe storms and flash flooding threaten Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio

A flood watch is in effect through Wednesday morning for portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio due to the threat of flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall. In central Indiana, a storm complex approaching from the northwest is expected to bring damaging winds, with gusts potentially exceeding 70 mph, and heavy rainfall that could result in localized totals of 2 to 4 inches.

In addition to flooding concerns, a heat advisory has been issued for southwestern Indiana, where heat index values are expected to reach 105 degrees. The weather pattern is expected to remain active into Wednesday, with additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms possible as ground saturation increases.
