Flooding hits Ban Kruat District in Buriram Province
Heavy rainfall and forest runoff have caused significant flooding in Ban Kruat District, Buriram Province. The flooding has impacted at least three sub-districts: Ban Kruat, Non Charoen, and Khao Din Nuea.
Main roads in the district center are submerged under 30–50 centimeters of water, causing travel difficulties and stalling vehicles. In Nong Mai Ngam sub-district, strong currents have eroded and severed a key access road (Tri 9), making it impassable for all vehicles. Local authorities have blocked the route and are coordinating with the Buriram Provincial Administrative Organization to deploy machinery for urgent repairs.
In addition to infrastructure damage, the floodwaters have inundated agricultural areas, including cassava, rubber plantations, and livestock farms. Some residential areas have also begun to experience water intrusion. District Chief Ekawat Puangprakon, along with local officials and volunteers, has been on the ground assisting residents with moving belongings to higher ground and clearing debris from waterways to improve drainage.
