Flooding hits Galaxia Tarímbaro residential area in Michoacán

Heavy rainfall has caused significant flooding in the Galaxia Tarímbaro residential area in Tarímbaro, Michoacán. The flooding was most severe on Urano and Neptuno streets, where water levels reached between half a meter and one meter in depth.

At least six homes were damaged and two vehicles were partially submerged or trapped by the water. No injuries have been reported, but material damage is significant.

Residents have blamed the flooding on a combination of factors, including trash accumulating in the sewage system and recent road paving works on streets such as Plutón. Locals claim these paving projects, executed by the municipal government, may have altered natural water flow or caused debris to clog the drains. The community is calling on municipal authorities to clean the drainage system and inspect recent infrastructure work to prevent future occurrences.
