Floor Jansen departs Nightwish after 14 years

Floor Jansen has announced her departure from the Finnish band Nightwish after approximately 14 years as their frontwoman. Following the announcement of their mutual decision to part ways, Jansen released a personal video message thanking fans for their support and acknowledging the shared sadness regarding the separation.

Jansen, who joined the group in 2012, participated in three studio albums: ‘Endless Forms Most Beautiful’ (2015), ‘Human. :II: Nature.’ (2020), and ‘Yesterwynde’ (2024). She is now preparing for a solo career, with a new album titled ‘Hytress’ scheduled for release on January 15, 2027, via REVAMP Music/Warner Music, accompanied by a promotional tour in Europe and South America.

Nightwish intends to continue its activities. The band plans to return to the studio in 2027 to work on a new album, which will be the first project without Jansen since she joined the lineup.
