Floor Jansen to depart Nightwish after 14 years

The Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and vocalist Floor Jansen have announced they are parting ways by mutual agreement. The decision follows a 14-year collaboration that began in 2012.

Jansen plans to focus on her solo career, with her second studio album, ‘Hytress’, scheduled for release on January 15, 2027. This new material is described as harder and more direct, and she intends to support the release with tours across Europe and Latin America.

Nightwish will continue as a group and plans to enter the studio in 2027 to record their eleventh studio album. The band’s final work featuring Jansen will be the live album ‘The Greatest 30 Years on Earth’, which is expected to be released on December 11, 2026, as part of the band's 30th-anniversary celebrations.
