The documentary ‘Flor Pucarina, rebelde hasta los huesos’ achieved strong opening numbers in Peruvian cinemas, drawing 1,200 viewers across eight screens on its first day. Directed by Geraldine Zuasnabar Ravelo, the film explores the life and legacy of the legendary Andean singer Leonor Chávez Rojas, tracing her journey from a migrant in Lima to a musical icon.

It outperformed the documentary ‘Ceviche’, which focuses on chef Rodrigo Fernandini. Despite being shown in 20 screens, ‘Ceviche’ attracted 260 spectators during its initial release. The simultaneous launch of these national documentaries marks a significant moment for local productions in the current cinematic lineup.
