Florence and Turin unveil new contemporary art spaces and programs

Arianna Iandelli and Lupo Steinhaus opened L'Appalto, a new gallery in Florence on 12 September 2026, dedicated to emerging Italian art. The space at Via Faentina 115/R will host three to four exhibitions per year, alternating monographic shows and collaborative projects, and will publish accompanying critical editions. L'Appalto also plans international collaborations with other galleries and project spaces.

The Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GAM) in Turin launched Ricognizioni, an open call for artists aged 19‑35 living in Turin to map the city’s emerging art practices. Submissions close on 20 September 2026, after which two projects will be selected for exhibitions between October 2026 and April 2027. Selected artists will receive a €1,000 stipend and develop workshops for young audiences in partnership with the museum and the nonprofit Almanac.
