Florence bar license suspended after drug seizure
The license for the bar-restaurant ‘Da Bibo’ on via dello Statuto in Florence has been suspended for 10 days following a decision by Police Chief Fausto Lamparelli. The measure was taken after an extraordinary surveillance operation conducted by police and canine units on September 21.
During the inspection, officers identified a foreign patron with a criminal record in possession of 23.41 grams of cannabis. Additionally, canine units discovered approximately 122 grams of hashish and 3 grams of cocaine hidden in an underground area accessible to the public. This follows a previous inspection on August 24, where hashish fragments were found inside the premises.
Authorities determined the establishment poses a danger to public order and security. Furthermore, the individual found with narcotics has been issued a prevention measure prohibiting them from entering or staying near the establishment for two years.
