Florence begins 223,915 euro green space redevelopment
Florence has launched the first phase of an extraordinary maintenance and environmental redevelopment plan for public green spaces and school areas. The project, valued at 223,915 euros, is funded by national resources as part of an integrated urban plan.
The works will focus on the Maragliano garden in District 1 and the Marangoni football pitch in District 2. In the Maragliano area, the project includes a complete restyling of the football field with new resin flooring, perimeter fencing repairs, and the planting of nine new trees, such as oak and plane trees, supported by a dedicated drip irrigation system.
In District 2, the Marangoni site will see the replacement of deteriorated synthetic grass with a new green resin sports surface, along with new goals, gates, and fencing. Vice Mayor Paola Galgani stated that investing in these outdoor sports and garden areas aims to provide safer and more inclusive spaces for families and youth.
