Florence celebrates 200 years of Carlo Lorenzini

To mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Carlo Lorenzini, known by his pseudonym Collodi, the Biblioteca delle Oblate in Florence is hosting a series of events dedicated to the author and his work.

A conference titled ‘From Carlo Lorenzini, Collodi, to Pinocchio’ will be presented by Daniela Marcheschi, president of the National Edition of the Works of Carlo Lorenzini, on September 30. The event will include a performance titled ‘Collodi’ by actor and director Alessandro Calonaci.

Additionally, the library will host a bibliographic exhibition titled ‘Carlo Lorenzini’ from September 30 to October 17. Organizers emphasize that the initiative aims to rediscover Lorenzini as a complex intellectual figure whose messages continue to resonate across generations and borders.
