Autopsy results confirm that Lorena Isceri, 45, was still alive when she was thrown from an A1 motorway viaduct in Barberino di Mugello. The investigation, led by Florence Prosecutor Antonio Natale, is treating the case as kidnapping for the purpose of premeditated murder and aggravated femicide.

Evidence suggests the perpetrator, Federico Vella, 36, had been surveilling the victim's home for three days prior to the attack. During the incident, Isceri managed to make a 19-minute emergency call while trapped in the trunk of the vehicle. Vella subsequently committed suicide by jumping from the same viaduct.

In response to the tragedy, the Mayor of Squinzano, Mario Pede, has declared municipal mourning and announced upcoming funeral services. Additionally, Italian mayors and members of the European Parliament have issued a collective appeal to strengthen protections and education to prevent further violence against women.
