Legal developments in Bergamo and Cianciana criminal cases

In Bergamo, a 39-year-old man from Ivory Coast has been sent to prison following repeated violations of court orders. The individual, previously arrested for a supermarket robbery involving an assault on security staff, had been under a ban from the municipality of Bergamo and was required to report to the police in Alzano Lombardo. After failing to comply with these mandates and being caught in the act of another theft in July, the Court of Appeal of Brescia ordered his incarceration.

In Sicily, the appeal process has resumed for Daniele Alba, a mechanic from Cianciana. Alba was previously convicted of domestic abuse against his wife and two young children but was acquitted of attempted murder and kidnapping due to being deemed mentally incapable at the time of the incident. The Court of Appeal of Palermo has ordered a reopening of the investigation to determine if his mental incapacity extended to the period preceding the attack. Psychiatrist Maurizio Marguglio is scheduled to testify regarding Alba's mental state.
