Florence Pugh credits Tom Holland for Spider-Man casting

Actress Florence Pugh has credited Tom Holland for her casting in the film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. During an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Pugh explained that the collaboration began after Holland expressed interest in working with her during a 2021 red carpet event.

Pugh noted that at the time, her character Yelena Belova was not yet as widely recognized as other major Marvel superheroes. When asked whom he would like to work with in a future Spider-Man installment, Holland specifically named Pugh. This public interest from fans helped facilitate her role in the film, which has become a significant box office success, grossing approximately $2.49 billion.

Additionally, co-star Sadie Sink mentioned that she became aware of her potential involvement in the film through online fan speculation before her casting was officially confirmed.
