Florence Robertson celebrates 104th birthday in Comox Valley
Florence Robertson, a resident of Comox Valley, recently celebrated her 104th birthday. When asked about the secret to her long life, Robertson cited two primary habits: taking a rest after lunch most of her adult life and singing in choirs.
Robertson, who continues to sing in the Berwick choir when possible, celebrated the milestone with a musical event. Her daughter, Martha Massey, and the local choir group The Hootin’ Nannies performed a customized rendition of a Gilbert and Sullivan song to mark the occasion.
Massey also noted that a focus on nutrition and maintaining an active lifestyle—including activities such as skiing, canoeing, camping, and skating—contributed to the family's health and vigor.
