Florence-Rome-Florence cycling event arrives in Poppi
The Florence-Rome-Florence, an international long-distance cycling randonnée, has arrived in Poppi. Organized by Polisportiva Casellina Ciclismo, the event covers 1,210 kilometers across four Italian regions: Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, and Abruzzo.
Poppi Mayor Federico Lorenzoni welcomed the international participants, noting that the municipality provided volunteers and a welcome buffet to support the event. The route spans 14 provinces with a total elevation gain of 13,000 meters, making it more demanding than the Paris-Brest-Paris challenge. Local officials highlighted the event as a significant opportunity for tourism and promotion within the Casentino valley.
