Florencio Randazzo testifies in Argentina's Cuadernos corruption trial
Florencio Randazzo, the former Minister of the Interior and Transport under Cristina Kirchner, testified as a witness in the Cuadernos case before the Federal Criminal Oral Court No. 7. During his testimony, Randazzo denied receiving any political instructions to favor specific companies in the allocation of subsidies and emphasized that he felt supported by the presidency during his management.
In previous hearings, witness Ricardo Cirielli, former subsecretary of Air Transport, testified regarding the lifestyle of former Transport Secretary Ricardo Jaime, describing a significant increase in wealth. Cirielli also alleged that a secretary of Jaime was tasked with exchanging bags of low-denomination currency for higher denominations at banks. The trial continues to investigate alleged illicit associations and bribery related to the awarding of public works contracts during the Kirchner administrations.
