Florent Manaudou reports 70% loss in sponsorships after Paris Olympics
French swimmer Florent Manaudou has revealed a significant decline in his commercial income following the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In recent interviews, including one with Journal du Dimanche, the two-time bronze medalist disclosed that he lost between 60% and 70% of his sponsors after the event.
While the Olympics provided a lucrative period for brand contracts, Manaudou noted that the post-Olympic financial reality is often much harsher for athletes. He received approximately 40,000 euros in public bonuses for his two bronze medals, but emphasized the vast disparity in earnings between gold medalists and those on the lower steps of the podium.
To adapt to these fluctuations, Manaudou has diversified his professional activities, describing himself as a ‘Swiss Army knife’ due to his involvement in television projects and other media roles. Despite the sharp drop in sponsorship revenue, he stated he is not overly concerned about his future due to previous savings and a varied professional life.
