Florent Marchet releases eighth album ‘Mobil Home’
Singer-songwriter Florent Marchet has released his eighth pop album, titled ‘Mobil Home’. The project reflects his nomadic lifestyle, as he splits his time between La Marsa in the suburbs of Tunis, Tunisia, and Maisons-Alfort in the Paris region, France.
The album explores themes ranging from the personal to the societal. Marchet uses his experiences in Tunisia to offer a perspective outside of Western living, noting the different relationship with time and the environmental impact of a money-based world, symbolized by abandoned car carcasses on beaches.
Lyrically, the album addresses social issues such as masculinism, the fear of war, and economic decline. The title track, ‘Mobil Home’, serves as a portrait of a woman unable to afford her own home.
