Florentia Village luxury outlet to open near Istanbul Airport
Florentia Village, a luxury designer outlet project located near Istanbul Airport, is scheduled to open on September 17. Developed through a partnership between Kalyon İnşaat and Italy’s RDM-Fingen Group, the project represents a total investment of 180 million euros, consisting of 100 million euros in loans and 80 million euros in direct foreign investment. International institutions including SACE and JP Morgan participated in the financing.
The first phase of the development features 65,000 square meters of leasable area and 190 stores, combining international luxury brands with strong Turkish labels. The project also includes gastronomy and social spaces, with plans for a 20,000-capacity concert and event center. A second phase aims to add 45,000 square meters, bringing the total leasable area to 110,000 square meters, which would make it the largest outlet center in Europe.
Murathan Kalyoncu, Chairman of Kalyon İnşaat, described the project as the first step in an ‘Airport City’ vision to create an economic and touristic ecosystem around Istanbul Airport. RDM Italia CEO Jacopo Mazzei noted that the project leverages Turkey’s position at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to attract international shopping tourists, particularly from China, Europe, and Central Asia.
